Review on ‘Dirty John’- Netflix.

I watched this last weekend as it was recommended by Netflix and like a sucker, everytime Netflix suggests something I’m like yeah go ahead I’ll watch it. To be fair though a good 70% of the time they have been worth the watch, and it saves routing around on the app for what I want to watch when some nights I just can’t make up my mind.

Dirty John I knew was based on a true story but I had no idea of the back story to it before I watched the series, whether or not this would affect the viewing of this I don’t know. Anyhow, I didn’t want to go out on the Saturday night so sat binge watching this for the entire night until I had watched the entire series.

I really enjoyed it, I thought it was well played out, the acting was brilliant in it, especially how well they portrayed the personality of John. They really captured how he easily he managed to manipulate women into a trap of what he wanted them to believe and used them for their weaknesses.

You started off by seeing him how her eyes, innocent, with no suspicion at all then as time goes on and you carry on watching it, your suspicion grows and grows and they reveal the details of his life behind the scenes in his trailer, his past scams and tricks, his family and his upbringing, to just before this story line of meeting the last partner of his life.

It was fantastic story telling and after researching the real people behind the story after watching it I realised how well Netflix had also chosen the actors and actresses as they look so similar to the real people.

Overall, if you want to watch a good thriller but one that will take some time to get into and will keep you guessing, definitely watch this.

Happy watching.
