Least concern animal: “Emperor Tamarian” (Saguinus imperator).

I’ve always liked this little primate and his funny tash!😂🧐

They are a species of tamarin allegedly named for its resemblance to the German Emperor Wilhelm II (who was the last German Emperor and King of Prussia, reigning from 15 June 1888 until his abdication on 9 November 1918 shortly before Germany’s defeat in the First World War, he was the eldest grandchild of Queen Victoria).

This monkey lives in the southwest Amazon Basin, in east Peru, north Bolivia.
Many Emperor tamarins are found in Amazonian secondary forests, which account for 40% of the forest area.

They are listed as least concern on the IUCN Red List however, their populations have been in decline due to threats of deforestation and human encroachment. Fragmentation of the forests has become a huge problem for arboreal primate species in the neotropics causing the tamarins range to be restricted, causing populations to be isolated, they are located in protected areas in Peru at Manu Park and Bolivia at Manuripi-Heath Amazonian Wildlife National Reserve. There are no protected areas that overlap with the Brazilian populations of emperor tamarins.
