I really love the dog rose (Rosa canina) its is a gorgeous deciduous shrub commonly seen in British hedgerows along with Europe, western Asia and as far as north west Africa; normally ranging in height from 1β5 metres, though sometimes it can scramble higher into the crowns of taller trees.

The flowers are usually pale pink, but can vary between a deep pink and white (in the pictures you can see white and bright pink- the bright pink ones are my favourite and smell amazing. Flowers are 4β6 centimetres in diameter with five petals, and mature into an oval, they also produce a 1.5β2-centimetre, red-orange fruit or hip.
The plant is high in certain antioxidants and the fruits are noted for their high level of vitamin C, and are used to make syrups, teas and marmalade.
It has been grown or encouraged in the wild for the production of vitamin C from its fruit (often as rose-hip syrup), especially during conditions of scarcity or during wartime.
π₯°I absolutely LOVE these flowers and would love some of the deep pink ones of my own in my garden and I would love to use the fruits to make my own rose hip oil or syrups plus the bees absolutely LOVE these flowers. π₯°
